•fNIRS is suitable for monitoring cerebral cortical oxygenation during physical training in subjects with METH dependencies.•The WPCO values significantly changed after physical training in subjects with METH dependencies.•The heart rate of the participants altered with the changes of training intensity during physical training.•The RPE scale scores were significantly lower during physical training than those in the resting state.
