Abstract
•DMPP reduced N2O (losing efficacy at 70–100 kg N ha−1) and tended to increase yield.•Methane oxidation increased with N dose but decreased with DMPP application.•The 100 kg N ha−1 dose is the highest N2O emitter per canopy area unit.•CO2 emissions increased with DMPP application, and were not affected by N dose.•50 kg N ha−1 applied until the start of pit hardening increased yield, not emissions.
