Clinical and radiological findings of facial paralysis in multiple sclerosis.

•Facial palsy is clinically defined as peripheral (pFP) or central (cFP).•The definition of the facial palsy (FP) suggests the differential diagnosis.•pFP may originate from a pons lesion in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).•A cortex lesion may determine a clinically defined pFP in MS patients.•In presence of a pFP an MRI should be performed before starting steroid treatment.
