摘要

•New primer set was designed to target the mitochondrial 12S rRNA region.•PCR-RFLP methodology was developed.•This methods was able to differentiate six snapper species without discrepancy.•This PCR-RFLP method is simple for easy adoption by the food regulatory authorities.
