Gel-Electrolyte EIS setup used for probing of IR Dried/Cured industrial coatings

•EIS with gel electrodes was used to measure impedance of industrial coatings.•IR curing was found to improve barrier properties of common industrial coatings.•Wet-on-wet application practice also benefits from IR curing practice.•The tests show no indications of permanent coating degradation induced by IR curing.
