Synthesis of ordered mesoporous silicas from rice husk with tunable textural properties

•Mesoporous silicas with different textural properties were synthesized.•Pore systems were modulated by varying surfactant template and hydrolysis step.•Silicas with mono-, bi- and trimodal porosity were obtained from rice husk ash.•XRD and TEM results confirmed the well-ordered pore structure of the mixed silicas.
