摘要
We analyze the detection performance for a simplified representation of a follower jammer in tactical radio network simulations. The motivation for this work is to be able to simulate and assess the performance of large mobile ad hoc networks under realistic jamming conditions. For a follower jammer to be efficient, fast detection (i.e., within a fraction of a frequency hop) is required. We assume that the radio system uses slow frequency hopping, with more than one symbol per frequency hop. The considered scenario is electronic warfare against a military battalion using one, or several, frequency-hopping radio networks simultaneously. We assume that the networks are synchronized in time, that they use the same frequency pool, and that the jammer has the ability to simultaneously detect multiple frequency-hopping networks. Detection time is expressed in terms of number of received symbols in the detector. We derive the minimum required SNR (for different probabilities of detection) versus the number of observed symbols.
