•Blended polyurethanes demonstrate enhanced vibrational damping and weathering resistance.•Blended polyurethanes afford more mechanical stability.•Degradation analyses show that polyurethanes become more hydrophilic.•New crosslinks formed in the PUs after weathering.•UV-Vis spectroscopy indicated that the macrodiol absorbs light protecting the urethane moiety.
