Abstract
•Through systematic scoping review, we were able to map existing evidence on the prevalence of prescription drug diversion among people living with HIV.•Research evidence shows high prevalence of prescription drug diversion for analgesics and antiretroviral drugs.•Stimulants and erectile dysfunction drugs were the least diverted drugs.•Gaps identified: There is limited research in low- to middle-income countries investigating prescription drug diversion among people living with HIV.
