Abstract
•A Ni2+ ion probe based on the H2O2 etching of triangular silver nanoprisms is presented here.•The etching of the triangular AgNPrs sculptured their sharp edges to circular Ag nanodisk.•The morphological transformation of the AgNPrs cause a color change from blue to yellow.•The present assay method can detect a Ni2+ ionic concentration of ˜21.6 nM within 30 min.
