•Ophiolitic clasts (e.g. peridotites, gabbros) comprise the Dos Hermanos Mélange.•The ultramafic-mafic clasts are formed in an island arc and mid-ocean ridge.•The clasts resemble the crust-mantle section of the Zambales Ophiolite Complex.•Strike-slip faulting modified the emplaced lithosphere to form the mélange.
