Abstract
1-aminopyrene-modified epitaxial graphene devices were fabricated to realize epitaxial graphene based pH sensors because the epitaxial graphene film synthesized on the SiC substrate is intrinsically insensitive for ions owing to the single crystal and very few surface defects. The transport characteristics shifted in the positive gate voltage direction with increasing pH while no shift was observed in the bare epitaxial graphene device. It can be considered that functionalized epitaxial graphene film have high potential for the various chemical and biological sensors.
