Abstract
This paper reports the chemiresistive sensor for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) based on titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) nanoparticles functionalized with cobalt-porphyrin (CoPP) for the first time. Herein, CoPP-functionalized TiO 2 exhibited enhanced response (155%) on exposure to 10 ppm toluene at an operating temperature of 300°C. The proposed VOCs sensor with a micro-heater could detect toluene and p-xylene at the concentrations ranging from 10 ppm down to 1 ppm with low power consumption (21 mW). Reliable and repeatable detection of p-xylene on exposure to 10 ppm was also achieved over 20 cycles for 10 hours.
