Low-energy synthesis of kaliophilite catalyst from circulating fluidized bed fly ash for biodiesel production

•Kaliophilite catalyst was synthesized from CFBFA for biodiesel production.•The highest biodiesel yield of 99.2% was achieved under mild reaction conditions.•CFBFA-based kaliophilite catalyst possessed excellent reusability.
