Design and structure optimization of small-scale radial inflow turbine for organic Rankine cycle system

•A small radial inflow turbine is self-designed and manufactured.•The nozzle stagger angle is optimized.•The rotor efficiency increases about 1% by optimizing the rotor blade profile.•The total-to-static efficiency of the optimized turbine increases from 0.863 to 0.880.
