The Mangaroon Orogeny: Synchronous c. 1.7 Ga magmatism and low-P, high-T metamorphism in the West Australian Craton

摘要
•Age of Paleoproterozoic intraplate regional metamorphism determined by in situ U–Pb phosphate geochronology.•U–Pb geochronology results show that magmatism was synchronous with metamorphism.•P–T conditions of 665–755 °C and 2.7–4.3 kbar (~175–240 °C/kbar) imply elevated thermal gradient at c. 1.69 Ga.•Integrated results show a much wider footprint of the 1695–1640 Ma Mangaroon Orogeny than previously thought.
