Abstract
The dependable systems behaviour builds the establishment for trustworthiness in any significant achievements in the information society. The dependability of a system is endangered if faults and failure in components of the system occur, being the cause for errors which can lead to consequent failure. Unexpected events, unavailability of equipment, instantaneous component failures, stoppage of automated equipment are unacceptable accidents that increasingly impacting the quality of life of persons and the quality of services in global society. The paper proposes a framework to evaluate the unavailability of the dependable systems using Fuzzy Multi-Stage Analysis. The method examines the importance factors of modelled system and the scenarios which can develop as a result of incidence of multiple, discrete events. The case of study, developed for realtime, operational conditions, validates, analytically, experimentally and by simulation, the efficiency of proposed method.
