These anomalies were interpreted as paleocave collapses or fault corridors by anticline folding. The result of comprehensive analysis based on structural evolution, stress and core data of target formations shows that seismic anomalies were caused by multi factors, not single factor. The probable origin of seismic anomalies is the combined result of dissolution and right lateral compression. Based on characteristics and scale of seismic anomalies, they are classified into five types. Some seismic anomalies are main vertical pathway of oil migration and some seismic anomalies destroy traps of lower formations in the western part of oilfield.Presentation Date: Tuesday, September 17, 2019Session Start Time: 1:50 PMPresentation Time: 3:05 PMLocation: Poster Station 4Presentation Type: PosterKeywords: carbonate, compressional, faults, interpretation, maximum likelihoodPermalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2019-3215314.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2019ISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2019 Pages: 5407 publication data© 2019 Published in electronic format with permission by the Society of Exploration GeophysicistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished Online: 10 Aug 2019 CITATION INFORMATION Junhai Liu, Minghua Xu, Ziming Wang, Cong Han, and Haifeng Wang, (2019), "Identification and interpretation of seismic anomalies in carbonate rock reservoirs: Iraq example," SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts : 2008-2012. https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2019-3215314.1 Plain-Language Summary Keywordscarbonatecompressionalfaultsinterpretationmaximum likelihoodPDF DownloadLoading ...
