Improving the uniformity of the coating thickness distribution during electroplating treatment of products using multi anode baths

Abstract
Non-uniformity of the coating results in low quality of products and increases the cost of the electroplating process. The paper discusses how to reduce the non-uniformity of electroplating coatings by methods that combine the optimization of the electrical conditions and the geometrical factors and a new method uses reversing current in a bath with disconnected anodes is proposed. For the proposed method, the problem of finding the optimal control is formulated and a three-level architecture of the control system is developed. The efficiency is confirmed by experimental results on the example of Nickel plating of a complexly profiled product.
