Association between street greenery and walking behavior in older adults in Hong Kong

•Street greenery exposure was assessed by Google Street View (GSV) images and machine learning techniques.•Street greenery was positively associated with both the odds and total time of walking for older adults.•Urban planners and policymakers should maximize residents’ greenery exposure from pedestrian and human-scale perspectives.
