Abstract
The effect of ionic liquid additives, 1-butyl-3-metyloimidazolium bromide and chloride, on the properties of rubber-textile composites was examined. The composites were obtained from polyamide fabric covered with a thin layer of vulcanizate (butyl rubber or acrylonitrilc-butadiene rubber) and filled with talc or mica. The addition of fillers modified with ionic liquids significantly reduced flammability of the investigated materials, without deterioration of their mechanical properties and adhesion between vulcanizate and polyamide fabric, even after thermal aging process.
