Design of a multi-parametric profile for assessing the acclimation period of juvenile brown trout after an acute transport to new housing environment

•Transport and new housing conditions alter physiology/behaviour of brown trout juveniles.•Behavioural/ biochemical/ biometric parameters are needed to check brown trout acclimation.•Behavioural stabilization was noted at the 17th day post-transport.•Skin analyses showed a reduction in the pigmented area with stabilization at 14th day.•Overall, acclimation of brown trout occurred from the 14th to 28th day post-transport.
