Abstract
Treatments of dihydroxyporphyrinato Sn(IV) with 1- and 2-hydroxypyrenols afforded 1- and 2-hydroxypyrene-coordinated Sn(IV) porphyrin complexes. Because of their stability, these complexes enable conventional manipulations as covalently bonded molecules. 1H NMR measurement revealed that the pyrenolato ligand rotates around not only the Sn-O coordination bond but also the pyrenolato O-C bond, suggesting that this coordination manner is applicable to transmission-like motion in molecular machines.
