Abstract
•A highly selective 1,8-naphthalimide-based red-emitting ratiometric fluorescent probe Lyso-NpSN has been developed.•Probe Lyso-NpSN showed fast response to HOBr within 12 s.•Lyso-NpSN possessed excellent lysosomal targetable ability in living cells.•Lyso-NpSN could be successfully applied for ratiometrically imaging exogenous and endogenous HOBr in living cells.
