Incorporation of lingo-cellulose nanofibrils and bark extractives in water-based coatings for improved wood protection

•Supercentrifuge avoids aggregation of LNFCs, and provides dilution water for paint.•LCNFs had a significant improving on hardness and abrasive resistance of coating.•The incorporation of LCNFs and BEs definitely increase the ageing resistance.•The optimum content was 2% of LCNFs and BEs, respectively.
