Microstructure and fretting wear of laser cladding self-lubricating anti-wear composite coatings on TA2 alloy after aging treatment

•Self-lubricating anti-wear composite coatings were prepared on TA2 alloy.•Main phases of coatings are α-Ti, (Ti, W)C1−x, TiC, Ti2SC and TiS.•Micro-hardness of heat-treated coatings at 500 °C and 700 °C is higher than substrate and heat-treated coating at 300 °C.•Heat-treated coating at 700 °C exhibits excellent fretting wear property.
