Abstract
Fishery and aqua culture is an important segment of activity in the south-eastern area of Romania. This fact is already related to the nuclear activities on the both sides of the Danube river and every new contribution to accomplish the database is welcomed. This independent surveillance exercise is based on the unique set of services offered by LRPM at IFIN-HH. Magurele to measure tritium as tritiated water, one of the most important nuclear radioactive effluents. The results obtained from April to October 2009 demonstrate that there is a measurable difference between the areas, even for the low level range of radioactivity, depending on the type and distance from de nuclear objectives. All values are placed well below the maximum permitted by applicable law and demonstrate that nuclear activities were conducted without incident during the research period (April September 2009).
