Crystallisation studies on site saturated lithium aluminosilicate (LAS) glass

•Crystallisation of site saturated LAS glass was studied for the first time.•Ea of crystallisation of β-quartz solid solution is found to be 371 ± 14 kJ/mol.•Crystal growth at 1048 K is determined to be in range 2.56–3.53 × 10−11 m/s.•Viscosity at 1048 K is predicted to vary between 1.28 × 105 and 2.82 × 105 N s m−2.•Processed transparent, low CTE glass-ceramic (−0.31 ppm/K between −60 to +60 °C).
