Abstract
Transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) has emerged as an effective endoscopic treatment for refractory GERD. TIF is reserved for GERD patients with small or absent hiatal hernia (≤2 cm). There are limited data on the efficacy of the hybrid procedure for patients with large hiatal hernia (>2 cm). In the hybrid procedure, laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair is combined with TIF with the goal to decrease post-surgical dysphagia and gas bloating compared to Nissen fundoplication. We aimed to assess patient satisfaction, symptom resolution, safety, and proton pump inhibitor use following the hybrid TIF procedure.
