Sa1079 EFFECTS OF CANNABINOIDS ON UPPER ENDOSCOPY IN YOUNG ADULT PATIENTS
GASTROINTESTINAL ENDOSCOPY(2019)
摘要
An increasing number of patients utilize marijuana for recreational and medicinal purposes. Cannabinoids are aromatic hydrocarbon compounds derived from the two main subspecies of Cannabis: Cannabis sativa and Cannabis indica. Cannabinoids are known to decrease gastrointestinal motility and can cause psychotropic effects. Younger patients can also have more difficulty with sedation. We aimed to determine if there was a significant difference between young cannabinoid users and non-cannabinoid users regarding upper endoscopy sedation requirements, procedure times and difficulty, and medical comorbidities.
