摘要
•Chitins/chitosans different degrees of acetylation were submitted to thermal analysis.•The gases evolved during thermal degradation were characterized by TG-FTIR.•TG-FTIR analysis revealed a complex gaseous mixture.•Evolved gases were ammonia, acetic acid, acetamide, H2O, CO and CO2.•Composition depends on the degree of acetylation.
