Abstract
•Fragility fractures of the pelvis (FFP) have different characteristics than high-energy pelvic fractures•Fracture progression (FP) is observed in some patients with FFP. Little is known about origin, time delay and outcome of FP•FP was observed in 14.2% of 148 patients with FFP. FP was seen in all FFP categories and nearly exclusively in females•Patients who presented early had more non-displaced fractures, had a lower FFP-category and were less often operated•Patients with FFP, who have been treated operatively, have less often FP than conservatively treated patients
