摘要
The paper presents a heart rate detection system using a novel miniaturized multimodal tactile sensor that emulates the four main mechanoreceptors - Meissner's corpuscles, Merkel disks, Ruffini, and Pacinian corpuscles - of the human skin. A heart rate wrist monitor was used to validate the performance of the new proposed system. The experiment consisted of placing the tactile sensors on the user's carotid artery. In 80% of the cases, the tactile sensors and the control measured similar values, with a difference of up to 2 bpm. The other results had external interference due to a misplacement of the sensor on the carotid artery.
