•Forced degradation was comprehensively carried out on homoharringtonine injection.•Eleven forced degradation products in homoharringtonine injection were characterized by UHPLC-Q-TOF-MS method.•Seven of them were first reported or described as degradation product.•One degradation product was confirmed by reference substance.
