Abstract
•Time-resolved PIV measurements were made in a 90° bend at a Re of 34,800.•The unsteady motions were characterized using a Snapshot POD technique.•Unsteady variations in secondary flow were found throughout much of the bend.•Low to moderate frequency motions were prevalent in the first part of the bend.
