Celecoxib Augmentation Of Escitalopram In Treatment-Resistant Bipolar Depression And The Effects On Quinolinic Acid In The Kynurenine Pathway

•Patients receiving escitalopram+celecoxib showed improved response and a higher remission rate.•Patients had significantly lower Quinolinic Acid levels at baseline compared to healthy controls.•Quinolinic Acid values did not change significantly over time, but a downtrend was noted throughout the treatment.•Responders had marginally lower Quinolinic Acid values than non-responders.•Prior exposure to a variety of psychoactive drugs may explain the negative findings.
