Urinary arsenic concentration, airway inflammation, and lung function in the U.S. adult population.

•Arsenic is associated with elevated fractional exhaled nitric oxide, a marker of airway inflammation, among U.S. adults.•Sex did not modify the effect of arsenic on airway inflammation among population with lower exposure levels.•Limited evidence of an association was found between arsenic exposure and lung function.
