Abstract
Utility power lines have different voltage levels in different geographical locations, ranging from 208V RMS up to 480V RMS. Most of the current universal input voltage PFCs accept up to 270V RMS in the input, which restricts their applications. In this paper, a wide-input voltage universal PFC converter with high efficiency is introduced. The proposed configurable converter provides high efficiencies in a wide range of input voltages with an 800V bus voltage. The presented converter has simple structure and control, low component count, and inrush current handling capabilities. All of these characteristics make the proposed converter a good candidate for the industrial applications. The performance of the proposed converter has been validated by the experimental results for an 800W prototype.
