Preparation and Characterization of Chemical Grouting Derived from Lignin Epoxy Resin

•Three lignin modification methods were conducted and the specific functional groups content was calculated.•A two-step epoxidation method was employed to obtain various kinds of lignin epoxy resin.•The new, bio-based chemical grouting material with good viscosity, mechanical property and adjustable performance was prepared.•Substitution ratio of at most 16% of the petroleum-based epoxy resin was achieved.
