摘要
•Reaction of B(C6F5)3 with reduced graphene oxide leads to a strong heterogeneous Lewis acid site.•This site is capable of to activate nickel complexes through Lewis acid-base interaction toward ethylene polymerization.•The supported catalyst depicted an activity greater than under analogous homogenous related systems.•In situ polymerization allowed to obtain highly delaminated reduced graphene oxide/ polyethylene nanocomposites.
