An octuplex lateral flow immunoassay for rapid detection of antibiotic residues, aflatoxin M1 and melamine in milk

•A novel octuplex lateral flow immunoassay for common chemical contaminants was developed.•This assay can determine six families of antibiotic residues, aflatoxin M1 and melamine in milk.•The limits of detection for these chemical contaminants were far below the MRLs set by the European Union.•The detection time of this assay is less than 20 min.
