Abstract
By combining the cores, thin sections, physical properties, and the mercury injection curves, forming mechanism of high quality glutenite reservoirs in Baikouquan Formation at the eastern slope of Mahu Sag is studied. It is a fan-delta sedimentary system of coarse debris gravity flow deposits, with glutenite as the dominant reservoir lithology and dissolution pores as the main reservoir space. High quality reservoirs is primarily controlled by the sedimentary facies and diagenesis. The fan-delta front facies provides material basis, while the dissolution during diagenesis constitutes the primary development mechanism.
