Utilization of the suprascapular nerve blockade in a rare presentation of Langerhans cell histiocytosis

•Opiate sparing techniques are particularly important in oncologic surgeries.•Truncal Langerhans cell histiocytosis lesions allow for utilization of newer and more localized regional anesthetics.•Adequate pain control with a suprascapular nerve blockade was demonstrated for posterior scapular spine pain.•Suprascapular nerve blockade eliminated post-operative opiate consumption.
