摘要
In this study, the buckling behavior of the cylindrical composite shells embedded with shape memory alloys is investigated experimentally. The laminated composite shells are fabricated from carbon-epoxy composite by filament-winding process with two different stacking sequences. The shape memory alloy wires with the shape memory effect and superelastic properties are placed between plies 2 and 3 of the four layers laminate with zero and 5% tensile pre-strain. Also, the effects of the number of embedded shape memory alloys wires including zero, four, and six wires are studied. Two boundary conditions CS-CS and SS-SS are used to perform the buckling test. Results show that the critical buckling load of the laminated cylindrical shells increases by using the shape memory alloy wires. It is observed that shape memory effect property of shape memory alloy wires is more effective than the other parameters. Also, from comparing the results, it is obtained that the fiber orientation and the boundary condition can change the effect of shape memory alloy wires on the buckling behavior of composite shell.
