摘要

The reduction of furfural to furfuryl alcohol is carried out for the first time by the Mn/2,4,6-Coll(.)HCl/H2O system. New experimental observations and DFT calculations indicate that the reduction takes place via hydrolysis of a metallaoxirane intermediate.
