摘要
A novel benzothiazole-based cryptand was designed and synthesized, which exhibits high intensity fluorescence in the presence of Zn2+ ion based on metal chelation inhibition of excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) process. The structure of the cryptand is confirmed by NMR, Mass u0026 X-ray crystallography. Importantly, this probe shows high selectivity over other biologically relevant metal ions, anions, and a detection limit of 0.20 µM which is acceptable within the EPA (US) limit.
