Abstract
•A PNIPAm film with dramatically switchable wettability from superhydrophilic (5.4 ± 2.4) ° to hydrophobic (139.4 ± 2.3) ° was fabricated.•The PNIPAm film was first successfully prepared on diverse substrates especially nonplanar surfaces.•Controllable contact line motion along on-demand directions was realized by applying temperature gradient on the film.
