•Full CA had higher SOC and C mineralization (Ct) but with a lower decay rate (Kc).•MMuMb had higher labile pools and subsequently higher Kc and Ct values than MWMb.•Optimum N dose irrespective of source significantly improved total SOC and its pools.•Q10 was similar in MMuMb & MWMb and PB + R & PB-R, but reduced with N application.
