The endothelial cells that coat the inner wall of blood vessels are essential for the maintenance of the vascular network, metabolic homeostasis and stem cell populations in tissue or tumor microenvironments (1-3). Angiogenesis is defined as neovascular formation through the sprouting and proliferation of endothelial cells from preexisting blood vessels.
