Safety Concepts For Body Control Automotive Functionalities

Automotive industry faces big challenges in providing safe functionalities which in case of malfunction do not put user or others at risk. These safety functionalities need to be developed according to a safety concept which incorporates safety strategies and safety mechanisms. Safety strategies prevent failures leading to dangerous situations, and safety mechanisms bring the system to a safe state in case of failures. Without any direct guidance, the process of creating safety concept can be a challenge. Starting from requirements recommended by automotive safety standard ISO26262, in this paper are proposed safety concepts for power window and low beam functionalities.
